The Mad Bomber moves back and forth across the top of the screen, dropping bombs that the player must catch in their buckets. In Kaboom!, the player takes on the role of a “Bucket Brigade” member, attempting to catch bombs dropped by the “Mad Bomber” using a set of three buckets. The game was designed by Larry Kaplan, one of the co-founders of Activision.
